Chad signed two financing agreements on Thursday 20, one with China and one with the African Development Bank (AfDB), as the government looks to fund development projects and modernize public administration.

China grants 300 million yuan
China and Chad signed two grant agreements worth 300 million yuan combined, about $44 million. State Minister for Finance Tahir Hamid Nguilin signed for Chad. Chinese Ambassador Wang Xining signed on behalf of Beijing.
The funds are earmarked for infrastructure, social development, and digital technology projects, along with talent training programs. According to Nguilin, the money, split into grants of 100 million and 200 million yuan, is already available and will go toward projects tied to the government’s development agenda, including programs targeting young people and women.
AfDB backs administrative reform
Chad also signed a separate deal with the AfDB worth roughly 8 billion CFA francs. The financing supports the Program for Improving the Business Climate and Modernizing Administration (PAACAMA). Nguilin signed for Chad; Francis Dogo signed for the AfDB.

The program targets economic governance, domestic resource mobilization, public administration reform, and the country’s business climate.
Both deals add to a string of recent financing agreements Chad has secured from international partners this year.
