N’DJAMENA, August 22, 2026 — Forty-four Chadians returned home from Libya on Saturday aboard Afriqiyah Airways’ first Tripoli–N’Djamena flight.
Officials from the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Social Action welcomed the returnees early Saturday morning.

Several returnees had previously been detained in Libya. They recently regained their freedom after talks linked to Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdoulaye Sabre Fadoul’s visit to Tripoli.
Their release comes as Chad and Libya work to strengthen judicial cooperation.
The flight also marks the resumption of the Tripoli–N’Djamena air route after several years of suspension.
