Goz-Beïda, Chad – A significant security operation in Sila Province has yielded impressive results, with 83 firearms seized and three offenders neutralized, as part of efforts to restore state authority in the region.
The ceremony, presided over by Governor Major General Sadick Siboro Dinga, showcased the province’s strengthened security measures, particularly in the fight against armed banditry and illegal weapon possession.
According to officials, the operation addresses key priorities: civil disarmament, fighting organized crime, and asserting public authority. The Sila province, bordering Sudan and the Central African Republic, is a strategic but vulnerable area.
Speaking at the ceremony, General Dinga emphasized ‘the need for collaboration’ between civilians and military, stressing that security is a shared responsibility. He highlighted the operation’s goals: promoting agricultural and pastoral activities, stabilizing the border zone, and strengthening trust between populations and the central administration.
The success of this offensive is expected to enhance security and stability in the region, allowing residents to pursue their activities without fear of exactions.
