
During his visit to Rome, President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno met with a quadripartite delegation established by U.S. President Donald Trump to support reconciliation efforts in Sudan. The delegation, composed of representatives from the United States, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates, briefed the Chadian leader on ongoing peace consultations.
President Déby reaffirmed Chad’s commitment to peace and dialogue in Sudan, highlighting the country’s central stabilizing role and the heavy humanitarian and security impact of the conflict on Chad. He also praised President Trump’s personal engagement in regional peace efforts, expressing hope for a lasting resolution to the Sudanese crisis.
