France and Chad have agreed to revive their bilateral partnership after talks in Paris.
President Emmanuel Macron met Chadian President Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno on Thursday at the Élysée Palace.
The two leaders reviewed key aspects of relations between their countries.
They voiced a shared ambition to reset cooperation on the basis of mutual respect.
Economic cooperation featured prominently in the discussions.

In a joint statement, both sides outlined new directions for the partnership.
These will guide future cooperation in areas of shared interest.
French and Chadian officials said talks would continue.
They aim to ensure the implementation and monitoring of agreed commitments.
Regional security was also discussed.
The two presidents focused on the conflict in Sudan.
They urged the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces to respect a proposed humanitarian truce.
They also called on the international community to support a political solution.
They stressed the need to preserve Sudan’s unity and territorial integrity.
The meeting comes 14 months after Chad ended its defence cooperation agreement with France.
