The SEMICA Chad 2026 exhibition is drawing to a close this Friday at the Radisson Blu Hotel in N’Djamena, concluding three days of high-level discussions, networking and exhibitions centered on mining, quarrying and hydrocarbons.
Held from January 21 to 23, the international forum brought together policymakers, investors, industry leaders and technical experts from across Africa and beyond.
Under the patronage of President Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, the event highlighted the strategic role of extractive industries in supporting Chad’s Vision 2030 for economic diversification and sustainable development.
Algeria, named guest country of honour, played a prominent role during the event. Its delegation showcased expertise in oil, gas and mining, while engaging in technical exchanges aimed at strengthening South–South cooperation and regional partnerships in the extractive industries.
The programme featured panel discussions, business-to-business meetings and exhibitions by public institutions and private operators. Organisers say the platform helped promote Chad’s mineral potential and opened new avenues for collaboration between national authorities and international investors.
