President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno has extended his condolences to Algeria. Deadly wildfires swept through several regions of the country in recent days.
In a Facebook post shared on Sunday 30, Mahamat Deby offered, on behalf of the Chadian people and in his own name, “our deepest condolences” to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, his government, and the families of those who lost their lives. He also wished a swift recovery to those injured in the fires.
Mahamat Deby closed his message by affirming Chad’s solidarity with Algeria. He said these painful moments call for “full solidarity with the brotherly people of Algeria.”

The wildfires have hit multiple wilayas across Algeria in recent days. Algerian Authorities have declared three days of national mourning.
